Quick Update :)

I am currently working in the school system working with several children that are Autistic.

Music has become one of the tools I use with some of the kids that I work with. It always surprises me, even though I know how music unlocks the brain, how each child responds.

One of my most moving moments happened when a young non-verbal autistic child performed a piece of music in front of an audience of a couple of hundred people. I had NO idea what was or was not going to happen at the performance. Well, the child not only played the piece but played the piece so flawlessly that it was one of the most stellar of the night.

Did I cry?

Of course!

So here I am after decades of teaching piano (lets just say more than I am willing to admit) still learning about teaching.

Never too old!

Are you ready for the new school year? Piano can be part of your new year. :)

Yes there are students that have an easier time learning the piano, but no matter who you are, PRACTICE becomes the key!

Have fun, it is sooo worth it!

Sit down everyday at the piano, even if it is only for a few minutes. Now do that 2 times a day and see where it starts taking you.

K :) Ever wondered why children learn music quicker than an Adult? They were born with it inside of themselves.

We loose this ability as we stiffen up as an adult. Not an impossible task, but not as easy as it is for our children.
