Today at Wee Watch, we wear orange.

On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we take time to reflect, learn, and honour Indigenous children, families, and communities. Through stories, conversations, and age-appropriate activities, we help build a foundation of kindness, empathy, and respect.

Every child matters — today and every day.

Honouring National Indigenous Peoples Day – June 21
Today, we celebrate the diverse cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across Canada.

This year’s theme, “Keeping the Circle Strong through the Sacred Relationship with Mother Earth,” reminds us of the deep connection Indigenous communities hold with the land and the vital importance of respecting water as a source of life.

At Wee Watch, we are committed to fostering inclusion, learning, and respect. Through stories, nature-based play, and meaningful conversations, we support our little ones in understanding and honouring Indigenous perspectives and teachings.

Together, we learn. Together, we grow.

Happy World Bee Day!
Today we’re buzzing with excitement to celebrate one of the hardest-working creatures on the planet — BEES!

Why are bees SO important?
- Pollination pros: Bees help pollinate 75% of the world’s flowering plants — including many of the fruits, veggies, and nuts we eat every day!
- Food chain heroes: Without bees, entire ecosystems and food supplies would struggle.
- Biodiversity boosters: Bees help plants grow, which supports wildlife and healthy habitats for all.

Every time we plant a flower, skip the pesticides, or support local honey — we’re helping protect these tiny powerhouses.

A big thank you to our Provider Keri for creating this adorable Bee Sensory Bin for her little ones in celebration of World Bee Day!

Sensory play is such a wonderful way to engage curious minds, and this bee-themed activity was the perfect way to combine learning and fun.

Let’s all do our part to protect the pollinators and keep our planet thriving!
