Graduation Ceremony 2026- Keynote Speaker: Dr. Maher El-Masri is an academic leader and Fulbright scholar who has been holding the rank of full professor since 2012. During his academic career, he assumed various research and academic leadership roles such as University Research Leadership Chair at the University of Windsor and Director of the School of Nursing at Toronto Metropolitan University. He also served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Canadian Journal of Nursing Research between 2015 – 2023. He authored and co-authored more than 100 research and theory articles in peer reviewed journals.
In recognition of his academic excellence, Dr. El-Masri received multiple awards that include the Emerging and Mid-career Scholar Awards from the University of Windsor, and the Leadership in Nursing Research Award from the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario, and the Errol Aspevig Award for Outstanding Academic Leadership from Toronto Metropolitan University. In recognition of his community contributions, he received the Canada 150 Medal in 2017 and the King Charles III Coronation Medal in 2025.
