The pile of clutter, toys, and mess seems to be a staple in most houses with toddlers. The days of keeping baby's room perfectly straight and tidy end when they are able to get their little hands on anything and everything around.

This is also the time you can start teaching your toddler how to help clean the toy room or bedrooms. Normally around one and a half or two, they will start copying what they see their parents do. If you buy them a play cleaning set, you will see them pushing a little broom around while your sweeping or pushing a toy Swiffer along with you. Here are some tips to get past this stage and raise children who will willingly clean up after playtime.

🐻 Let your little ones help get their stuffies off the floor by helping them tuck them into bed

🎤 Use the tidy up song or play some music to get everyone going

🖐 Hand them a towel or washcloth and they can "help" you dust

⏰Make a game out of it such as racing the timer to get all the toys away before the buzzer goes off

⚽️ Have them pick up categories for instance balls, blocks or dolls

👍👍👍 Soon your little one will be a pro and with fewer prompts and helping will come to understand that everyone can help keep our homes clean and tidy!

Pink Shirt Day was created as part of an initial movement to stop bullying at a Nova Scotia school. David Shepherd, Travis Price and their teenage friends organized a high-school protest to wear pink in sympathy with a Grade 9 boy who was being bullied [for wearing a pink shirt]…[They] took a stand against bullying when they protested against the harassment of a new Grade 9 student by distributing pink T-shirts to all the boys in their school.

Here are some of the truths about bullying that are hard to swallow:
- 1 in 5 children are bullied on a regular basis (2+ times a week).
- Over half of bullied children do not report being bullied to a teacher.
- Bullying behaviour peaks for boys in grade nine (47%), while for girls it is tied for grades six, eight and nine (37%).
-Children who are bullied are at higher risk of headaches, anxiety, depression, and risk of su***de.
- Peers are present in 90% of bullying incidents.
