This contribution will help ensure that our students have access to a healthy breakfast each morning, giving them the fuel they need to learn, grow, and succeed throughout the school day.

Are you curious about your child's development? Are you wondering if they are reaching their milestones on schedule? Are they starting school in the Fall and you want to check in on how their development is progressing?
During the week of July 13-17, Maggie's Place, in partnership with Nova Scotia Early Childhood Development Services, will be offering Ages & Stages Developmental Clinics for children, 2 months to 60 months of age.

Please call Maggie's Place to register for an appointment time at your preferred location, (902) 667-7250.

July 14- Springhill's Dr. Carson & Marion Murray Community Centre, appointments available from 9am-12:45pm

🌈 Celebrating Pride at Spring Street Academy!

A huge shout-out to our amazing students and members of our GSA who helped paint the Pride flag at the front of our school. Their hard work, creativity, and leadership have created a powerful symbol of belonging, acceptance, and inclusion for our entire school community.

At Spring Street Academy, we believe that diversity makes our community stronger. We are committed to creating a school where all students can be themselves, feel supported, and know they belong.

After our run, SSA students enjoyed an afternoon treat and a special awards celebration recognizing the amazing members of our Running Club.

We are so fortunate to have so many incredible students who show determination, strength, perseverance, teamwork, and kindness each and every week. Running Club is about so much more than crossing a finish line—it's about encouraging one another, building confidence, setting goals, and having fun along the way.

This afternoon, we recognized 12 students who were nominated by staff and volunteers for their outstanding contributions to Running Club. These students were celebrated for:
✨ Highlighting the fun aspect of Running Club
✨ Demonstrating leadership
✨ Being positive role models for others
✨ Showing tremendous respect for themselves and those around them

We are incredibly proud of all of our award recipients and grateful for the positive impact they have on our school community.

🏃🏾‍♀️Over 800 Runners. One Epic Event. The SSA Fun Run / Blue Nose Run is almost here!🏃

The energy is building, the sneakers are laced, and just under 800 incredible students are ready to hit the pavement! We are so excited to host this year's SSA Fun Run / Blue Nose Run, and we want you there to cheer them on.

When: Friday, June 5th, 2026
Start time: 10:30AM

Here is everything you need to know to be the ultimate spectator and help us keep this event safe and fun for everyone:

🚫 Street Closures
To ensure our runners have a clear, safe path, the streets along the race route will be completely closed down during the event. Please plan your travel and parking accordingly!

📣 Spectator Guidelines: Where to Cheer
We love a loud cheering section! Parents, families, and spectators are warmly welcomed to watch and cheer from the perimeter of the route.

⚠️ Important Safety Note: To keep all 800+ students safe and accounted for, spectators are not permitted to access the actual race route.

Thank you for respecting the boundaries and helping our volunteers keep the course secure!
