News from Student Services

Dear Students and Families,

We hope that you have all enjoyed your summer and that you are looking forward to the new school year.

As we approach the start of the year, we would like to assure you that guidance staff and the administration are currently working diligently on student timetables for next year. Please be aware that our focus at this time is on new student registrations and students whose timetables have problems (ex. one or more holes in a timetable, students missing compulsory credits, students requiring pre-requisite courses, students who require pathway changes, etc.).

We will be reaching out to those students and families on an individual basis as soon as possible. That being said, we are unable to accommodate timetable changes based on preferences at this time. As a result, we ask you that you do not email us with your requests unless the change is related to the issues identified above.

We would also like to remind all students and families that no student timetables are considered to be finalized until the first day of school. As we troubleshoot problems, we often have to move around multiple students in the process so it is possible student timetables will change right up until the start of school.

We will be doing student call downs at the start of September to try to honour student preferences and elective changes. However, these changes are often difficult to accommodate, especially in grades 9 and 10 where students have many compulsory courses so to change one course usually requires us to change multiple courses.

More information about school start up and student timetables will be shared by the administration closer to the first day of school.

We appreciate your understanding and patience at this time and look forward to seeing you all in September!
