International Wild Salmon Day | Na̱mg̱is First Nation 06/02/2026

Since today is International Wild Salmon Day 🐟

Wild salmon are deeply connected to our people, waters, food systems, and way of life.

We often say: Our Land, Our Sea, Our Territory — and wild salmon are part of that connection.

To mark International Wild Salmon Day, we’re inviting community members to share a favourite wild salmon photo, memory, or story in the comments below 🐟 Whether it’s time spent on the water, fishing with family, preparing salmon, or a special memory — we’d love to see what wild salmon mean to our community.

haring on your own page? Tag us or use so we can see your posts too. Just make sure your post is public so we can find it 😉

Today is International Wild Salmon Day 🐟

Wild salmon are deeply connected to who we are — our waters, our food systems, our teachings, and our families. They continue to nourish our community and remind us of the importance of caring for the lands and waters that sustain us.

At Na̱mg̱is, we often say: Our Land, Our Sea, Our Territory — and wild salmon are part of that connection.

This June 1, we invite our community to help celebrate International Wild Salmon Day by sharing what wild salmon mean to you and showing support for the habitats, people, and projects helping protect them for future generations.

🌱 The T’łuładi Project engagement report shares what community members told us about water, wildlife, cedar, cultural values, and creating more opportunities for youth and families to reconnect with the land.
