Let’s make this EASY and FUN

As a piano teacher, it is my goal…
1. To provide for the unique needs of each student in a manner that appeals to their individuality and is tailored to the understanding, capabilities and goals of that specific student. We do not all like the same music. We do not all possess the same strength and weaknesses and we do not all learn in the same manner. Not everyone wants to be a concert pianist. Far too many students quit because they become frustrated with traditional methods or simply do not enjoy what they are playing. So why have a piano lesson that is exactly the same as everyone else? My lessons incorporate genre preferred, specifically chosen material that targets particular skill development, at the appropriate level of ability and understanding. By playing the music they love, devotion to careful, diligent practice becomes enjoyable for the student, accomplishment and progression becomes easier, and a love for music and creativity can be nurtured.
2. To offer exciting, individually tailored lessons, designed to propel and motivate, capture creativity, develop skills and instill confidence through a logical progression of fun and challenging activities built around many or any preferred genre.
When it’s fun...it gets done!
There is always a challenge or team contest built around a theme to be won at my studio, a sticker or prize incentive for extra effort and achievement, and trophies at the year end recital. There are fun theory, performance, and creative composition activities built around holiday themes. Students are encouraged to record and post you tube videos for family and friends as a way to share our accomplishments. Other you tube videos are used to learn accompaniment or as backing tracks. Computer programs are used for theory drills and composition notation.
3. To instill a love of music through creativity and fun, and to provide the tools to not only reach for new goals though out a lifetime, but to inspire and touch others.
