“RAMIRA” a mural painted as an homage to nine artists and one model (Ramira) inside the Art in the Country audio in Aldergrove, BC. The subjects,left to right are: Jeannette Bittman, Sharon Papp, Robin Bandenieks, Eva Erdos, Santo Mignosa, Al Sather, Lindi Rae, Ted Driediger, Karen Ireland and Ramira, the model. These artists, four of who live and work in Langley, regularly participated and supported Art in the Country live model sessions for the last ten years of Live Model Study. (The Saturday sessions are open to all community members who are interested in self-directed study of the human form and portraiture.) This mural, created by Susan Gorris, took one year to finish and hopefully, onlookers will enjoy this celebration of nine individuals whose individual spirit, hard work, industry and paintings, drawings and sculpture continually merit acclaim and my gratitude.
