Today we celebrated Earth Day with our children dressed in beautiful shades of blue and green to honour our planet
Throughout the day, we talked about caring for the Earth, appreciating nature, and the small ways we can show respect for the world around us. It was wonderful to see our community come together in these vibrant colours as a reminder that we all share one home.
At Milestone Montessori, nurturing a love and respect for our environment is part of helping children grow into thoughtful, responsible individuals — not just today, but every day.
Happy Earth Day! 🌎

Today was Picture Day at our school!
The children arrived with bright smiles, dressed in their uniforms and special outfits, ready for their moment in front of the camera. There was so much excitement in the air as they waited for their turn, helped one another get ready, and shared lots of giggles along the way.
We can’t wait to see the beautiful memories captured today — these are moments families will treasure for years to come.

What an egg-citing day at our Annual Easter Egg Hunt!
The children had so much fun decorating their own colourful bags before heading outside with big smiles and eager eyes, ready to hunt for Easter eggs. There was laughter, excitement, and plenty of happy surprises along the way!
And the fun didn’t stop there… We brought the celebration indoors to decorate delicious Easter cookies, adding icing and sweet toppings with lots of creativity (and a little extra sprinkle here and there!).
From start to finish, the day was filled with festive activities, bright colours, and joyful springtime energy.

March has come to an end, and what a busy and exciting month it has been in our classrooms!
We celebrated Ramadan and St. Patrick’s Day, wore mismatched socks for World Down Syndrome Day, and purple shirts in support of World Epilepsy Day. These moments gave us the opportunity to learn about inclusion, awareness, and the importance of community.
The children also explored hands-on science experiments, learned about oral health and how to properly care for their teeth, and continued building their literacy foundations — with some students working with sandpaper letters and even creating their own set.
Now our classrooms are beginning to welcome signs of spring, and Easter activities are making their way onto the shelves. We’re looking forward to a fresh and exciting April — stay tuned!

When we look at a Montessori classroom from the early 1900s and compare it to our classrooms today, the similarities are truly meaningful.
Although so much around us has changed over time, the heart of Montessori remains steady and true. It is a reminder that when children are given the freedom to explore, thoughtfully prepared materials, and respect for who they are, they naturally grow into confident and capable learners.

A little look behind the scenes of our children’s work cycle today.
During this time, the classrooms are filled with quiet concentration as the children choose their work, explore materials, and move through activities at their own pace. You might see a child carefully tracing letters, painting with focus, practicing cutting, or repeating an activity until they feel confident and proud of their work.
These moments may look simple, but they are where independence, problem-solving, and concentration grow. Each child is following their own path of discovery, supported by a calm and prepared environment.

Thank you to all of our families who joined us for Show Me Night last week! It was a great evening for the children to share their classrooms and proudly show the work they have been doing.
We are so proud of the confidence the children showed while guiding their families through the environment and sharing their favourite activities.
Thank you again to everyone who came out and made the evening so special.

Today we celebrated World Wildlife Day by exploring the incredible animals that share our planet.
The children learned about wildlife habitats, discovered the importance of protecting endangered species, and had thoughtful discussions about how we can care for the natural world around us. Their curiosity and compassion truly shone through as they asked questions and shared what they know about animals in the wild.
To bring their learning to life, the children created beautiful wild animal masks, choosing creatures that inspired them. From majestic jungle animals to powerful safari wildlife, each mask reflected creativity, imagination, and a growing awareness of conservation.
A meaningful day of learning, creativity, and appreciation for the wonders of wildlife.
