CHARIOT RACES

Two kids on the bottom. One rider on top. Race across the mat.

Then SWITCH.

Everyone pulls the chariot.
Everyone rides the chariot.
Everyone gets a turn on top.

Balance, teamwork, movement, and a whole lot of chaos. 😂

Sometimes the best way to learn Jiu Jitsu is to make it feel nothing like learning Jiu Jitsu.

Sometimes learning Jiu Jitsu looks a lot like playing.

The rules are simple:

Get hit with the ball? You lie down.

A teammate comes over and performs the move of the day to get you back in the game.

Then you’re both off and running again.

The kids get to play, move, laugh AND repeat the technique over and over without it feeling like drilling.

More reps. More fun. More Jiu Jitsu.

Coach Alan is teaching a knee cut pressure pass straight into what he calls “the world’s easiest armbar.”

The idea is simple: don’t just pass the guard to get past the legs. Pass with pressure, control the position, and make the next attack part of the pass.

Get on top. Stay on top. Finish from the top.

Good Jiu Jitsu doesn’t need to be complicated.

Teaching a technique to a room full of people is the easy part.

Coaching them is different.

Tonight we worked on the fundamentals of guard retention. Understanding distance, creating frames, staying attached and learning how to keep someone in front of you.

Once the lesson is taught, Professor Raechel moves around the room.

Watching.
Correcting.
Answering questions.
Giving feedback.

Because people learn differently. They move differently. They make different mistakes.

A coach needs to see those differences.

The goal isn’t just to teach Jiu Jitsu.

The goal is to make sure people are learning Jiu Jitsu.
