Welcome Back to School!

We are honored to be serving our community once again for the new academic year 2019-2020.
We have some exciting news to share: Al-Huda Weekend School in Ajax is moving! We will now be located at 2944 Audley Road, Ajax. ON. Inside Islamic Foundation School Durham.

We cannot wait to start our new year with lots of new adventures to come.

إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ‎‎


"Surely we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return". (Al-Baqarah 2:156)

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

This morning the Muslim Association of Canada issued a public statement condemning the terrorist attack on Mosques in New Zealand. Please share among your communities.

The attack on New Zealand’s Muslim community in the city of ChristChurch is a tragedy and has left Muslims around the world in shock and grief. The Canadian Muslim community has experienced such hate first hand in the Quebec City shooting.

At such difficult times of brutal and tragic loss of life, we should demonstrate leadership and call for strength, tolerance and unity. We should be resilient and offer support to the youth in our communities.

Such attacks of terror should strengthen our commitment to our faith and we should continue to connect with other communities and faith-groups to stand against hate.

The Honourable Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has condemned the attacks, saying the attack on people during prayers is “absolutely appalling.” We encourage you to contact your local elected officials to express concern about the escalation of Islamophobia in Canada and across the world.

We have called on all of our mosques, schools and Islamic centres to be vigilant in the coming days and months. Our management has been instructed to contact local police services offer increased protection to ensure the safety of congregations at Friday prayer today.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

March 15th, 2019

Assalamu alikum wa rahmatullah wabarakatu my dear brothers and sisters,

It is with a heavy heart that I write to you on this day. The tragedy in Christchurch that has taken our brothers and sisters is difficult to bear. It is in these moments of grief and difficulty that we seek comfort, strength and patience in the words of Allah.

الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَالُوا إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

Those who say when calamity strikes them, "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return."

وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَمْوَاتًا ۚ بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ



And never think of those who have been killed in the cause of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision



Our hearts mourn our fallen brothers and sisters. Our hearts are with their children, their parents, their siblings, their uncles, their aunts, their grandparents, their beloved and every soul touched by their lives. We pray the fallen are accepted as martyrs. We pray for the injured to regain their health and ability. We pray that the families are blessed with patience and strength.



While we mourn in pain, we know well that it is the sunnah of Allah that we will be tested.



أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَن تَدْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَأْتِكُم مَّثَلُ الَّذِينَ خَلَوْا مِن قَبْلِكُم ۖ مَّسَّتْهُمُ الْبَأْسَاءُ وَالضَّرَّاءُ وَزُلْزِلُوا حَتَّىٰ يَقُولَ الرَّسُولُ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَعَهُ مَتَىٰ نَصْرُ اللَّهِ ۗ أَلَا إِنَّ نَصْرَ اللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ

Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while such [trials] has not yet come to you as came to those who passed on before you? They were touched by poverty and hardship and were shaken until [even their] messenger and those who believed with him said, "When is the help of Allah?" Unquestionably, the help of Allah is near.

At a time when islamophobes and bigots are increasing in number and audacity, and when terrorist acts like these are calculated to sow maximum fear among us, we will not be shaken. We will not live in fear.



الَّذِينَ قَالَ لَهُمُ النَّاسُ إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُوا لَكُمْ فَاخْشَوْهُمْ فَزَادَهُمْ إِيمَانًا وَقَالُوا حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ

Those to whom people say, "Indeed, people have gathered against you, so fear them." But it [only] increased them in faith, and they said, "Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs."

We will continue to practice our faith with strength and dignity. We will raise our families with our precious values for a brighter community and a brighter Country. And we will remember that the hate behind these attacks does not represent the good people of New Zealand, just as it does not represent the millions of good people here at home.

This calamity will indeed be a major challenge for our community in many ways, and as leaders in our community, I am counting on everyone of you to help us lead others forward in this difficult time. Our Executive Director is actively providing direction to our chapters, members and volunteers on next steps and coordinating a national response. Together we will overcome this tragedy and emerge as a stronger, more united community because of it inshallah.

Al-Huda Weekend school in Ajax is looking for a qualified and dedicated Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Quran teachers to start working in September, 2018.

Location: 1375 Harwood Ave N., Ajax.
Hours: Saturdays 9.30am - 2.30pm.

Qualifications: - Candidates must have sound knowledge of Standard Arabic and Arabic Grammar. Candidates should also have good command of the English language, and in general should be practicing to be a role model for our younger Muslim generations.

For our Quran and Islamic studies position, candidates should also know proper tajweed and Quran recitation to teach our students, in addition to good command of the English language.
