Thank you to all those who voted and supported me in being re-elected as school board trustee representing the Town of Ajax. I am looking forward to working with the newly elected board of trustees. I will continue to listen, ask questions and advocate on behalf of students, parents, caregivers, and staff for quality, equitable, public education that ensures success for all students.
A special thanks goes to my husband and children for supporting me during the election.
2022 Municipal Election - A change in geographic representation for the Town of Ajax
When the Board of Trustees for the Durham District School Board reviewed trustee distribution (representation), it passed a motion to have 2 Trustee represent Ajax as a whole. I advocated for this change as representation by Wards was no longer equitable, with 1 trustee (Ward 3) representing 1/3 of the population and the other trustee (Wards 1 & 2) representing 2/3 of the population. So what does this mean? It means when people of Ajax vote for public school board trustees in the 2022 municipal election, they will be voting for 2 public school board candidates to represent Ajax as a whole. Town of Ajax was the only municipality in Durham Region to elect public school board trustees by ward.

The final Council decision has been deferred until the November 9, 2020, General Government Committee Meeting.
To help inform Council’s decision, we are asking residents to complete a short survey. The survey is live until October 30.
