Tammy's Music Class

Tammy's Music Class Tammy has been sharing her joy of music with others for longer than she can remember.

Tammy is a Fully certified Music For Young Children teacher, RCM Elementary Private Piano Specialist and Early Childhood Education Assistant with over 30 years experience! She began playing the piano at 18 months old when her mother taught her how to play ‘Twinkle Twinkle little star’ on a toy piano. Not being able to drag Tammy away from her grandmother’s piano her mother finally relented and put Tammy in Organ lessons at age 5. In 1984 after winning numerous music festival awards, composing her own music and playing at a grade 10 RCM level, Tammy became the youngest Organ instructor in Canada for the Yamaha Music Education foundation. She later obtained certificates in Piano /Keyboard and Junior Music courses with Yamaha Canada. In 2001 Tammy broadened her teaching credentials to include various TMA certificates which spawned a further love of teaching young children music. In 2005 Tammy opened her own music studio and in 2008 became a fully certified Music for Young Children instructor where she continues to teach today. With over 30 years of teaching experience in group and private lessons, Tammy is excited to bring her wealth of knowledge, passion for music and love of students of all ages to every group/private or preschool class she teaches. When Tammy’s not teaching she can be found playing ‘keys’ for local vocalist artists, bands, worship bands and/or writing music as a published songwriter.

Hi everyone! I’m in my 22nd year of teaching Music for Young Children (MYC) here in Abbotsford, BC, and I still love every single moment of it. What makes MYC so special to me is how it blends every aspect of music—piano, singing, interactive games, and songwriting—into a fun, engaging experience. Best of all, parents join in the fun, learning right alongside their kids and creating unforgettable memories. I'd love to help your child build a rich, joyful musical foundation! I have a couple of spots left in my Sunbeam 1 class which is for 5 and 6 year old children on Tuesdays at 4pm to 5pm and love to see you there! Feel free to email me for more information [email protected]
