For Mark Thiessen, our executive director, sometimes reminders come in the form of a pink blur rushing by the office door on a Friday afternoon. Find out what happened next in today's Inside Out blog...
HOT DOGS AND UNEXPECTED REMINDERS | Inside Out
The clock on my computer showed it was just before 3:30 on a Friday afternoon. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a blur of pink rush by my office door. No sound, just colourful energy and enthusiasm. Moments later, the blur was back, heading in the opposite direction. This time, however,

A highlight in textiles class is fabric dyeing! Each piece is uniquely different, and students get creative with a variety of shapes and patterns. They’re not always sure how it will turn out - which is half the fun!

This year, the grade 2s took part in the Bee Project, created by Mrs. Worsley-Brown—a great example of students making a positive impact while shaping God’s world in an authentic way.
The photos show the various parts of the project, including:
- Planting flowers in the planters outside of their classroom.
- Travelling to a blueberry farm to plant flowers so that the bees can pollinate the blueberries.
- They made 'Save the Bee' posters to place around the school to spread the message.
- They had a 'BEE DAY' where they hosted other classes to teach them about their project and how we can help the bees!
- The last photo is of a miner bee on one of their flowers!

The Learning Commons was full last night for our annual Taste of Music event. The evening was filled with incredible talent as we enjoyed performances from junior band, senior band, the Jazz Club, and our very own saxophone quartet, “8 Lungs, 4 Tongues.”
Alongside the performances, guests were served dessert made by Chef Gary Reimer's foods classes.
One highlight of the night was the conga line that wrapped up the evening. Thank you to the audience for your enthusiastic participation! We look forward to doing it all again next year.

Well actually, YOU did it!
We have surpassed our fundraising goal of $125,000 for The Playground Project, raising a total of $132,911.40! A HUGE thank you to everyone who supported this initiative. We are so excited for the new and improved play spaces coming in time for next school year! 🎉
Throughout the campaign, we’ve revealed some of the features to look forward to in the new playground (swipe through to see), but a lot of it you’ll just have to wait and see!
Comment below with what else you think the new playground will have. ⏬
If you didn’t get a chance to donate to Drive to Revive but would still like to, you can donate through abbotsfordchristian.com/d2r . All donations over and above our goal will go towards air conditioning for the elementary campus.

This year, the grade 6 Market Day raised a total of $7,598.16 for Opportunity International Canada! We are so proud of the hours of hard work poured into each shop and honoured to partner with Opportunity International through this project, furthering the incredible work they do.
Opportunity International helps people living in poverty become entrepreneurs by equipping them with the financial resources and tools they need to thrive. They believe every person, regardless of circumstance, deserves the opportunity to build a better life for themselves and their family.
Through this experience, students gained insight into what it means to start a business, while also developing a deeper awareness of the challenges faced by people living in poverty.
