Abbotsford Aikido would not be what it is without Suda Sensei's pioneering martial arts in the area. We are extremely lucky to have been invited by him to share his dojo. May his legacy live on forever in the great dedication of his judo students.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved founder, Tokue “Sensei” Suda (1950 – 2026).

Mr. Suda was a 7th-degree black belt whose lifelong dedication, honor, and resilience transformed our martial arts community. A quiet, humble man with a giant presence, he touched countless lives both on and off the mat. His greatest passion culminated in founding the Abbotsford Judo Club, which he built into the largest dojo in British Columbia through his gentle nature and relentless devotion to his students.

He was a truly special man. We will forever hold him in our hearts, cherish his memory, and carry on his remarkable legacy here at the dojo. Our thoughts and love go out to his family, friends, and the extended judo community in both Canada and Japan.

Sharing Memories & Photos
The Suda family invites everyone whose life was touched by Sensei to share stories, photos, and memories on his online tribute page: https://www.online-tribute.com/TokueSuda

Memorial Contributions
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions toward a memorial fund established in his honor to support the judo community he loved so deeply.
