Assessment Week Schedule – October 31 – November 4, 2022

In order to accommodate the Graduation Literacy and Numeracy Assessments for grade 10 and 12 students, we will be running a different bell schedule for the week of October 31 to November 4, 2022.

On Wednesday, September 28 we are hosting Meet the Teacher Night at Rick Hansen Secondary and are inviting you to come meet your child’s teachers. Parents are asked to arrive between 530pm to 545pm to pick up a school map, your child’s timetable, a cup of coffee/tea and a treat. We encourage you to bring your child as well. Below is the schedule for the evening. At 7:00pm the Parent Advisory Council (PAC) will be meeting in the Learning Commons and they hope you will attend.

MEET THE TEACHER NIGHT – WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 28, 2022

5:30pm-5:45pm: Parents/students arrive to school

5:50pm-6:00pm: Parents visit Block A class

6:05pm-6:15pm: Parents visit Block B class

6:20pm-6:30pm: Parents visit Block C class

6:35pm-6:45pm: Parents visit Block D class

6:50pm-7:00pm: Extended Day Class (classes that take place before or afterschool)

7:00pm-8:00pm: PAC Meeting in Learning Commons (optional for parents if they want to attend)

In School Transitions/Flow of indoor traffic
· Try to ensure you maintain enough distance between one another for everyone to be comfortable
· Keep moving to avoid traffic congestion and crowding
· Stay on the right-hand side when walking in the hallways (Hallways are all 2 directional)
· Use designated stairwells (Up, or Down) for moving between floors (Stairwells are all 1 directional)
· Avoid congregating in hallways or common areas.

Entrances and Exits:
· Enter the building at the location closest to your first block classroom
· At the end of the day exit the building at the nearest exit point - Teachers will es**rt their class to the nearest exit at the end of the day for the first week back at school. For students participating in after school activities, first exit the building and then re-enter via the Gym foyer doors.
