🧡 Last week, our staff reflected on the 94 Calls to Action and made commitments about how reconciliation can guide our work and our lives. Displayed in our school, those commitments sparked curiosity and learning as students stopped to read and engage with them. On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we're reminded that this learning belongs to all of us.

This morning our school community gathered together in a circle of reflection for Orange Shirt Day. We listened as Mr. Joe drummed and sang the BC Song, made by Steven Point, and took time to think about truth, reconciliation, and our shared responsibility to learn from the past. 🧡

A big thank you to Archway Community Services for hosting our Punjabi parent information session last night. It was a great opportunity for families to learn more about school routines, communication tools, volunteering, hot lunches, online payments, and more. We appreciate your ongoing support of our Dormick Park community!

More classroom space is coming to Dormick Park Elementary!

The Ministry of Infrastructure has announced $49.5 million in funding for school expansion projects across British Columbia, including a new classroom addition at Dormick Park Elementary.

This investment will help meet the needs of our growing community by creating more space for students to learn, connect and succeed.

Dormick Park students joined Barrowtown and Ten-Broeck for the Sacred Earth Day Concert 🌎🎶Singing in English and Halq’eméylem, they shared a powerful message of culture, language, and caring for the Earth. So proud of our students!

Celebrating National AccessAbility Week with our Vision Team! 🧡 Students took part in an inclusive sports day with BC Blind Sports, designed for visual accessibility—like baseball with audible bases to guide the way. A powerful reminder that everyone belongs when we build with accessibility in mind.
