🌿 A Warm Welcome to Roya Khosrvan, MSW, RSW 🌿

That is why we are so pleased to welcome Roya Khosrvan to the Whyse Wellness team. With more than 26 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and seniors, Roya brings both exceptional clinical expertise and a genuine passion for helping people navigate life's challenges with compassion and understanding.

Roya believes that meaningful change happens when people feel seen, heard, and understood. Her approach is warm, collaborative, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive, creating a space where clients can explore their experiences, strengthen their relationships, build on their strengths, and move toward a life that feels more aligned with their values.

She supports individuals experiencing:
• Anxiety and depression
• Trauma, grief, and loss
• ADHD and emotional regulation challenges
• Stress, burnout, and perfectionism
• Self-esteem and identity concerns
• Relationship and family challenges
• Workplace stress and life transitions
• Fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum adjustment

Roya's work is grounded in the belief that every person brings unique experiences, strengths, values, and hopes for the future. Therapy is never a one-size-fits-all process. She carefully tailors her approach to meet the individual needs of each client, drawing from evidence-based therapies including EMDR, CBT, DBT, ACT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, and mindfulness-based approaches.

Have you ever noticed how often we use the phrase "I am fine" as an umbrella explanation for everything? We often default to saying we are fine while treating deep fatigue as something a simple night of sleep will fix, though the exhaustion often remains. Comparing this to turning up the radio to drown out a clanking car engine, saying "I'm fine" can act as a shield against acknowledging real internal stress.

Our latest Insights blog post explores what happens when our internal engines overheat, prompting you to check whether you are genuinely fine or just tuning out the noise.Read the full reflection on our website:

Saying "I am fine" can be a way to turn up the radio on internal stress. What if we pulled over and listened to the engine noise instead?

❓When was your last mental health check-up?

Imagine meeting someone who is 50 years old and has never been to a doctor or a dentist. You would probably find that a bit concerning, right? 🤔

We do not wait until our teeth are rotting to see a dentist. Why do we wait until we are overwhelmed to check on our mental health?

Asking for support is not a sign of weakness. It is an ordinary way to take care of yourself. Maybe it is time to shift counselling from a last resort to a routine preventive check-up.

Read our latest Insights blog post on our website to find out what a mental health check-up actually looks like. www.whyse.ca/insights
