One question I hear is, "When should my athlete start private lessons or learning about the sport of volleyball?"
The truth is, there isn't a perfect age to start.
I've worked with athletes from 3rd grade through 9th grade, and every player develops at their own pace.
So what would a lesson look like for a younger athlete?
For athletes in the 3rd–6th grade range, lessons are often focused on building strong fundamentals. We might work on things like proper passing technique, serving mechanics, footwork, court movement, and overall volleyball confidence.
Whether an athlete is just learning the game or preparing for school and club volleyball, lessons can be tailored to their current skill level and goals.
The goal isn't to start as early as possible—it's to start when your athlete is ready to learn and grow. Learning the fundamentals early can help build confidence and create good habits that will benefit them for years to come.

🏐 Tryouts are over… now the real work begins.
Summer practices are right around the corner, and this is the perfect time for athletes to continue building confidence, consistency, and game skills before the season starts.
The athletes who improve the most during the season are usually the ones putting in extra work during the summer!
I offer both private and small group volleyball lessons in Conway Arkansas. Wether your wanting one-on-one lessons or wanting to bring your group of friends along, there is always room for improvement!

Tryout Tip:
Freezing to Target
Many coaches look for athletes who are consistent in their passing and setting.
One way to improve consistency before tryouts is learning to “freeze to target.”
When an athlete freezes at contact instead of swinging through, they gain more control over where the ball goes. This helps improve accuracy and consistency — two things coaches notice quickly.

🏐 Volleyball Lesson Availability for This Weekend!
I’ll be offering private and small group volleyball lessons on Saturday, the 14th, from 6–9 PM at the Conway Juniors facility.
These sessions are great for athletes who want extra reps and focused skill development before tryouts get here. Each lesson (private or group) is 1 hour long, so there are only 3 sessions available!!
