Santa Elena’s Green Shift

Big minds. Bright ideas. Greener future.

Our brilliant Standard 6 students at Eden SDA Primary & Preschool took a close look at the environmental challenges affecting our Santa Elena community — and they didn’t just point out the problems… they offered SOLUTIONS!

Problems They Identified:
Burning garbage fills the air with toxic smoke and carbon dioxide
Dusty roads cover plants and make it hard for them to thrive
River erosion weakens the riverbanks and destroys trees
Wasting electricity increases fossil fuel use

Smart Green Solutions They Proposed:
Compost and recycle instead of burning waste
Plant native trees to catch dust and strengthen our environment
Use vegetation to hold the soil and prevent erosion
Practice “Power Down” habits to save energy every day

These young eco-leaders are proving that age does not limit impact when children care, communities change.

Santa Elena can become cleaner, greener, and brighter when we all do our part. Let’s cheer on our students and commit to protecting the place we call home!
