✨ HAPPY INTERNATIONAL LITERACY DAY! 📚

Today, September 8th, we celebrate International Literacy Day: a meaningful day that reminds us of the importance of reading, learning, and having the ability to understand and communicate through words.

To celebrate, our IBES students dressed as their favorite book characters and brought their favorite books to share and read with their classmates!

A special thank you to Miley Chi for taking the time to visit and read to our students. Your love for reading helped make this day extra special!

🎉 Orientation Day at IBES! 💕📚

What a fun day! Our students got to meet their teachers and classmates, enjoy fun activities, and get familiar with the school & new classroom placements!

Each student received a special IBES tumbler as a little welcome gift! They also enjoyed a snack and drink, while parents were treated to refreshments as well.

We were also lucky to welcome the Queen of the Bay contestants, who stopped by for a special visit with our students!

Thank you to everyone who joined us! We’re so excited for an amazing 2026–2027 school year! 🎒🍎

🎓 ISLA BONITA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY 🎓

Isla Bonita Elementary School is pleased to announce that we will be offering ONE SCHOLARSHIP to a deserving student for the upcoming school year. 💗

The selected student will receive either a PARTIAL or FULL TUITION SCHOLARSHIP, depending on the circumstances of the applicant and the school’s assessment.

This scholarship is intended to support a student who is academically committed but experiencing genuine financial hardship that makes it difficult for their family to afford school tuition.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Applicants must:

• Be a current or past Isla Bonita Elementary School student
• Have achieved a minimum yearly average of 85% or higher during the previous school year
• Demonstrate genuine financial need
• Be in good academic and behavioral standing
• Demonstrate commitment, responsibility, and a positive attitude toward their education

APPLICATION REQUIREMENT

Students must submit a handwritten essay explaining:

“Why I Believe I Deserve the Isla Bonita Elementary School Scholarship and How This Opportunity Would Help Me.”

The 250 word essay must be written by the student in their own handwriting. Parents/guardians are asked to allow the student to express their own thoughts and ideas.

📸Please take a clear photo of the handwritten essay and include it with the application.

📄 SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

Applicants should also submit documents/information that can help the school assess:

• Previous school year’s academic performance
• Financial need
• Attendance and school standing
• A teacher recommendation may also be requested
