It is with deep sadness that the Board of Directors, Management, and Staff of the Cayo Centre for Employment Training (CCET) announce the passing of Mr. Oscar Montero Sr.

Mr. Montero served as Chairman of the Board at CCET until 2015 and remained an active board member until recently. He remained closely involved with the institution, offering his insight and guidance.

His leadership and commitment to skills development in the Cayo District shaped CCET’s growth. During his tenure, the institution expanded its efforts to provide Belizeans with training and opportunities. Many of CCET’s achievements reflect his steady influence.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Montero family during this difficult time.

Mr. Montero’s service and legacy will be remembered at CCET.

We bid a warm farewell to Julianny Garcia, Food Preparation Level 2 trainee, as she departs today to represent Belize at the Taste of the Caribbean 2025 in Barbados. She won first place in the Junior Chef category at the Taste of Belize 2025.

We wish her the very best as she competes in this regional culinary competition, a well-deserved recognition of her hard work and dedication.
