Letter regarding Hurricane Lisa
November 2nd 2022
Please be assured that The National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) is monitoring Hurricane Lisa as it approaches Belize, and is working closely with District emergency response teams to ensure villagers safety.
As with any emergency situation, we are striving to balance the need for safety with our overall commitment to provide students and families with every sense of normalcy. Updates on school closures will be posted on PAC’s social media -, Facebook, ://www.facebook.com/pac3montessori
All Schools were closed beginning Tuesday November 1st 2022, and extending through Friday, November, 2022.
We understand that this extended period of school cancellation may cause difficulty for your family, our primary concern is the safety of all students, families, and school staff.
We urge families to have an emergency plan in place and to prepare ahead of the storm's anticipated impact. NEMO recommends individuals and families prepare an "emergency kit" with a minimum of 3 days' worth of food, water and other supplies in the event of prolonged utility shut offs or severe weather. Water will be disconnected at 6pm this evening until 6am Thursday.
Saint Johns is designated as an emergency shelter for Placencia. Activation is initiated by the district in close coordination NEMO. You can connect with your Districts emergency response resources and find useful resources at:

DRUM ROLL!!!THE TIME HAS COME TO LET THE CAT OUT OF THE BAG!!!
PAC3 Montessori is delighted to announce that we will be located in Sundowner's Lodge in the core of Placencia. Between Carols Cabana's and Sidewinders Subs, set back from the road in the fenced yard behind Placencia Fishing Charters!
A building that has been a port in a storm to many Placencians and we will hopefully continue to carry a torch in the same vain.
Sundowner's has served as a refuge and a sanctuary, sheltering approximately 75 people in Oct. 2001 when Hurricane Iris devastated the peninsula, causing extensive damages in southern Belize greatly affecting the lives of many Belizeans and claiming lives across the Caribbean.
The property has been in the family for over 75 years. purchased from Grandparents in 1985 by their Grandson. he built the fishing lodge the same year that Iris hit the cost of Belize. The home withstood when so many were lost.
The family occupied the home until 2014 and was repurposed as a fishing lodge for visitors seeking adventures at sea.
In keeping with the history this term we will be studying fish and marine biology this term and if you stop by for a visit be sure to check out the Wall of Fishing Fame and what the catch of the day might be at Placencia Fishing Charters.
We feel as though we have been given an opportunity to stretch our limbs, growing up with our students and the village.
Follow Us to get a glimpse of the campus and what PAC3 Montessori has in store for 2022-23!

As many of you may have heard the Placencia Point property has been sold. We hope that the future owners will honor the importance of that piece of Placencia history and and respect the true value it holds for our community.
Countless PVC events, Sundays with family on the beach, fishermen displaying the catch of the day, skiffs running ashore and gatherings of friends, watching sailboats and skiffs coming home from a day at sea in the sun, dolphins showing off in the split, children climbing in trees that have withstood the test of time and hurricane Iris, and the many many people who retreat at lunch time in the shade and breeze. We pray that we as a community will preserve it for future generations of Placencians and visitors alike.
Every member of our family, separately, on emigrating to Placencia walked down the white sand and into the blue-green water and turned to see the small blue house and said "Wow! What an amazing place!"
We are honored that we have had the privilege to be stewards of such a special place in world.
We are however, happy to announce that we have found a new location in the core of the village that will enable us to continue to serve families in our community.
We will be opening our doors September 7th for the coming Academic Year!!!
We also delight in improving our services and provision of our program by expanding the ages that we accept. Announcing the opening of our "Fledgling Program" for ages 2 and up!
Admissions are OPEN NOW!!!
Message us to find out more about what's new at PAC3 Montessori of Placencia!
