As we reflect on the 2025–2026 school year, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Captain Jak’s, Aretha Benedit, and the entire Captain Jak’s team for the incredible support you have shown our school.

From assisting with painting and helping us prepare our school, to being there every time we called and asked for assistance, you have always made yourselves available to us. Whether it was a big task or a small favor, you have generously said YES time and time again.

We are especially grateful for your assistance in helping us get ready for the new school year by ensuring that our schoolyard was clean, raked, and beautifully put together for the return of our students and teachers.

📚✨ Four Days of Learning, Growth & Literacy! ✨📚

Over the past four days, our teachers, together with the Anglican Lift Literacy Team, have been actively engaged in an enriching training on the IMSE Orton-Gillingham Literacy Approach.

The Orton-Gillingham approach is a structured, systematic, multisensory approach to literacy instruction. It teaches reading and spelling skills explicitly by helping students connect sounds, letters, words, and language patterns through seeing, hearing, saying, and doing. This approach provides teachers with practical strategies to support students in developing strong foundational literacy skills and becoming confident readers and writers. 📖✏️

It has been a packed four days filled with learning, collaboration, hands-on experiences, and new strategies! Our teachers are now equipped with valuable skills and approaches that they are ready to take back to their classrooms to help strengthen literacy instruction and improve student outcomes. 🌟

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Dr. Sarah Watt and Dr. Ashley Johnson from Miami University for sharing your knowledge, expertise, and passion for literacy with us. We are truly grateful for this amazing learning experience and the investment you have made in the professional growth of our educators. 💙📚
