During orientation at OWITVET, I was checking on a group activity and no one wanted to write on the shop paper. One member actually pushed the paper away and turned his head saying that he will not write. Another one picked up the marker and said 'I will write teach.' So I said 'I am so proud of you that you are showing great leadership skills' and continued walking to the next group. When I peeked at the last group...guess who was writing? Yeah...the same trainee who had pushed away the paper. So I made sure I passed by him, tapped him on the shoulder and said 'great job..you write so neatly!' I could see a little puff in his face and a lift in his shoulders. These simple gestures make my day brighter....All children need encouragement and praise. Share your experience with us!
