Muffles College is a high school established in 1953 by the Jesuits as an all boy's school in Orange Walk Town. In 1967, the Sisters of Mercy assumed sponsorship and have had care of the school since then. Muffles has had both lay and religious principals, with present principal Mrs. Maria Johnston having taken over in 2008. Muffles College established a Junior College division in 1992. Known as Muffles Junior College, they moved to their present location on San Estevan Road in 2003. The Junior College is headed by Dean Adrian Leiva. Muffles is now a co-ed institution, catering to the needs of both boys and girls from all over the Orange Walk District. It enjoys the space of 15 acres set in the heart of Orange Walk Town, and has been a landmark in Orange Walk Town since its inception. The present population of over 650 students enjoys access to playing fields that include football, volleyball and basketball, as well as some of the most modern and spacious educational facilities. Muffles students do well in both academics, placing in the top CSEC results for the whole country every year.

❤️ Happy Mercy Day 2026! ☕️

Today, Muffles College High School celebrates Mercy Day with a day of prayer and service along with our global Mercy Family.

“ This year's theme, Rooted in Mercy, reminds us that Catherine McAuley's courageous "yes" continues to nourish our shared mission of faith, compassion, service, and care for those most in need.” -Mercy Education

September 19 in Belize is celebrated as National Service Day, honoring the life, legacy, and public service of the late Right Honourable George Cadle Price, the Father of the Nation. In OW, the Mayor awards individuals who reflect a life of service, and we are proud of our teacher Ms Kanisha Cocom, who was awarded tonight after the Saturday night Mass for her contribution in Education and environmental awareness!!
