Areynie Augustine was selected by the National Secondary School Sports Association (NSSSA) to participate in the U-18 CODICADER Track and Field Tournament to be held in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, from September 10th - 13th, 2026. This is a significant opportunity for Areynie to represent Belize on the regional stage and compete against some of the best young athletes from Central America. We congratulate Areynie on this prestigious accomplishment.

World Su***de Prevention Day (WSPD) was established in 2003 by the International Association for Su***de Prevention in partnership with the World Health Organization. Each year, on 10 September, WSPD focuses global attention on su***de prevention, uniting communities, organizations, and governments with the shared belief that su***des are preventable. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness around the globe that su***de can be prevented. 2026 marks the third and final year of the triennial theme for World Su***de Prevention Day (2024–2026), Changing the Narrative on Su***de, with the call to action: Start the Conversation. This theme calls on us all to challenge harmful myths, reduce stigma, and foster open, compassionate conversations about su***de. It is about shifting from silence and misunderstanding to openness, empathy, and support, creating environments where people feel able to speak up and seek help.
