The Dean, a member of the Administrative Staff, and faculty of the Hospitality & Tourism Management Department of CEMJC proudly attended the Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA) 41st Annual General Meeting, as members held on Thursday, September 24th, at the Best Western Plus Belize Biltmore Plaza.
What made this occasion especially meaningful was the opportunity to bring along 10 tourism students, including 5 students who volunteered as event chaperones. This provided our students with valuable hands-on industry exposure, allowing them to observe, participate, build professional connections, and experience firsthand the importance of networking within Belize’s vibrant tourism sector.
The event also provided an excellent platform for our faculty and students to engage with tourism industry professionals and strengthen the connection between classroom learning and real-world industry experience.
Adding to the department’s contribution, the Head of Department delivered the closing remarks, representing our commitment to meaningful collaboration with the tourism industry.
✨ Preparing tomorrow’s tourism professionals through learning, service, exposure, and connection! 🇧🇿🌴
