"I was fortunate to select La Bacadilla in Benque Viejo as the school in Belize to study Spanish. Having studied Spanish in all other countries of Central America, I found La Bacadilla to be very professional and flexible.
David and I discussed in detail my desires as he designed a tailor-made educational experience for me. In-class studies were well set up. Numerous options allowed for field trips to places of cultural or biological interest.
Another excellent option was to take the classes outside and interact in real-world situations with my excellent teacher, Carmen. We visited mass, bought tortillas, haggled for souvenirs in Benque and nearby villages, visited an outdoor museum, and enjoyed bread from the panaderia and coffee visiting with locals in Spanish.
The nearby Mayan ruins were an excellent place to see these ancient structures while being serenaded by howler monkey roars from the nearby tropical forest.
The family selected for my home-stay was superb, with wonderful food and companionship. This was a rich and memorable experience. Thank you.
