The Pok Ta Pok Festival 2026, held on May 17 at the Eco Museum Belize, owned by Mr. Mito Paz, brought together community members, cultural enthusiasts, artisans, and visitors for a vibrant celebration of Belize’s rich Maya heritage through the ancient Maya ball game. The festival featured an exciting Pok Ta Pok demonstration, a Belizean artisan market, and a variety of food, drinks, and cultural activities throughout the day, creating an engaging space for cultural exchange while highlighting the importance of preserving and promoting Belize’s indigenous traditions.

The festival was proudly supported by the National Institute of Culture and History (NICH) as a Sponsor. Representing the Museum of Belize/NICH, Ms. Zeena Mossiah attended the event and joined patrons and organizers in celebrating Belize’s cultural heritage and the enduring legacy of the Maya civilization.

The Pok Ta Pok Festival 2026 reflected the strong support and collaboration of the community, cultural partners, artisans, performers, vendors, and attendees who came together to celebrate and preserve Belize’s rich Maya heritage.
