El ingeniero agrónomo guyanés, Muhammad Ibrahim, llega a la Dirección General del IICA para el período 2026-2030, posición desde la que trabajará para profundizar el rol protagónico de la institución y del continente americano en la seguridad alimentaria, fomentado las inversiones tendientes a la transformación de los sistemas agroalimentarios, y a la mejora de la viabilidad económica y financiera de las empresas agrícolas, en especial de los pequeños agricultores.

Con 35 años de trayectoria y un doctorado en Ciencias Agrícolas y Ambientales por la Universidad Agrícola de Wageningen (Países Bajos), el señor Ibrahim posee un reconocido trabajo en la construcción de redes para aumentar la productividad y la resiliencia del sector agrícola en las Américas, gracias a esto ha asumido el puesto con el compromiso de trabajar para fortalecer el agro de todos los países de las Américas a través de las oportunidades que ofrece el escenario actual de la investigación y las nuevas tecnologías.

El IICA Costa Rica le da la más cordial bienvenida a esta su nueva casa.
