It has been nearly a month of us slowing down.✨
Our family was at capacity. Between Johnathan working as the Executive Director of the Silk Grass Nature Reserve, our daily commute from Silk Grass to Placencia (for our daughter’s schooling) and back to Boston Village (3 hours north) to pick and package on the weekends, we realized we were working against nature. Something had to change.
We came back to Belize to bless our daughter with all this beautiful land has to offer, a slower life, a stronger connection to nature and to Spirit, to community. In pursuit of our Kuna dream, we sacrificed all the values that Kuna stands for. We never spent time with our daughter.
For these reasons and more, we will be pausing deliveries to focus on the next steps, on farm R&D and on building our Maya Beach outlet in the next year. We will still use this space to share recipes and farm happenings, so please keep following along! 🌱Hoping this year passes sooner than we expect!
Until then, sending love, peace and good energy! ✨💚🌿
Kunahmul Organics
Located in Boston Village, Belize, we aim to bring tasty 100% organic vegetables to your plate! Try the 30+ varieties we are growing on our small 2 acre.
Our family has lived on this farm for over 2 generations. “Kunahmul”, meaning “Love Nest” in Mayan, is the name George Price gave our farm years ago, and exactly how we feel about it too. Our shared dream of growing organic vegetables and bringing variety to Belize was born out of a love for each other and a love for this land. Why Grow Organically? Here at KO Farms, we believe in simplicity, in v
If you needed one, here’s your reminder to slow down. 🌞
Sound on so you can hear the birdsong ✨🦜
My grandma called me a hot pepper the day I was born, so it’s no surprise we have a love of hot peppa in our family. Also, did you know many peppers originate in the region?!
Here are a few ideas of what you can do with our Hot Peppa Pack ❤️🔥🌶️✨
Recipe for our Obel Chili Oil Snapper on top of Heirloom Chinese String Beans to come soon ✌️ Placencia, DM us for the list for delivery next week!
🌞Sometimes you need to step back and remember your “Why”. ✨
For us, of course it was always to bring diverse, delicious, heirloom, organic vegetables to Belize, but more than that, it was to live a more intentional life- one that wasn’t predicated by numbers, timeframes and efficiency for effiency sake. A life where we could be in relationship with Mother Nature, where we could witness our daughter picking her own food and learning to steward this great land.
🌿
For all these reasons and more, we will now be delivering every two weeks to Placencia.
✨✌️💚🌱Genovese, Thai Sweet and Lemon Basil coming soon!
Thankful that we got to slow down today and enjoy a real farm-to-table meal (every single veg on our plate grown on our land!!). ✨🍅✨🫛
Thankful for all those who mother, all those who hold the fort down, who nourish the nest, who remind us we are loved. Thankful for Pachamama, the great Mother who gives to us in sometimes mysterious ways! Happy Mother’s Day ya’ll 💁🏻♀️🩷

PEACE STARTS WITH PLANTS
🌸
We grow so we can be witnesses of the beauty that exists in the natural world, to see how we play a part in the natural cycles and patterns that are already alive. We grow so we can remember the stories that lived before us, the foods that would be lost if we didn't listen.
Yes, that means:
🌱 heirloom and native varieties (more genetic diversity, food sovereignty)
🌱 no spraying, no synthetic fertilizers (low carbon footprint)
🌱 no killing of the "pests" that play a role in this sacred design (better ecologically)
🌱 beyond organic practices- agroforestry, syntropic farming, spiritual union
You might ask "Why are you doing it all again?"
Our NEW logo perfectly epitomizes the ethos of this new era of Kunahmul ~
We were eating a guava in Canada, a few years back, daydreaming of our return home. Taking notice of how the seeds naturally form a flower, the memory of its original form before pollination, we realised the fruit cannot exist without the flower.
Beauty is purposeful. Beauty matters!
The flower cannot exist without the bee. Patterns exist in nature to support the interconnectedness of all beings. Nature is generous if we listen to the patterns. Growing diverse, beautiful vegetables is how we listen at Kuna.
You'll be seeing more of us soon.
Thanks infinitely for our support!
And Happy Labour Day! Big thanks to all the people whose hard work bring food to our tables, safety to our communities, guidance to our children and more 💪 💖

Heirloom tomatoes might not have the same shelf-life as their conventional siblings, but they bring more flavour and more diversity (for your plate and for the environment).
We have already lost 93% of our food seed variety in the last 80 years, so growing heirloom is a way to keep food history, culture and flavours alive.
"Normal" seeds aka what you see in grocery stores are often hybrid varieties picked for shelf-life over flavour. They are picked green and ripened with ethylene gas. Even in Belize, tomatoes here are picked green, for convenience.
Flavour aside, heirloom open-pollinated seeds:
- help boost diversity in the environment
- offer us food sovereignty (seed saving)
- are like a photo of culture past
- are ancient, not genetically modified to resist chemicals (by-products of warfare)
Watch for more info (I tried 😂 ). Pick up your cocktail tomatoes and other goodies at Save U Belize City today. Placencia, DM me for the list for next week!

Happy Easter 🐣
We present to you one of the many varieties we are bringing this year: an heirloom striped cocktail 🍅! Perfect for salads, snacking and just so damn juicy + flavourful! ✨
Most tomatoes you find on the market are picked green and ripened with ethylene gas. Even in Belize, tomatoes are picked green out of convenience.
Our heirloom tomatoes are grown organically in our hoophouses and vine ripened! This means they have more time to develop their flavour- seriously taste the difference!
The packaging studio is out of commission but we can’t stop the abundance that is our field, so hey! We just dropped off some of these guys to Save U in Belize City. Go get em! 🍅✨🍅✨
