Gone but not forgotten! Happy School Counselling Awareness Week in heaven, Ms. Betty.

Belize School Counsellor Association (BSCA) takes this opportunity to remember one of our founding members, a pillar, and a mentor to many of our members, Ms. Elizabeth Goff, who we regrettably lost two years ago during School Counselling Awareness Week (SCAW). Ms. Goff was a staunch advocate for the role of the School Counsellor within the Belizean school system and so during SCAW, we take the time to honour her legacy.

Ms. Goff was not only an influential founder of the BSCA; she also took much care and time to empower those who were new to the practice by walking them step-by-step through developing counselling programs in school that did not have one. She willingly offered books and materials to those who needed it and was always an ever-present force in the association.

Ms. Goff left a legacy for school counsellors in her work habits and her caring spirit. She was an asset to this association and its members. She was a blessing and is greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched. Her legacy will live on forever. May those who had the honor to work closely with and interact with her carry on her torch.

This year we are pleased to announce the first ever "Elizabeth Goff Award". The purpose is to recognize an outstanding school counsellor who has made a positive impact in his/her school with students, teachers, and parents.
