🟠 Winter Holidays with Purpose: Introducing Belarusian Culture to FOST Students During the winter holidays, teachers of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language organized a visit to the Vitebsk Regional Methodological Center of Folk Art for the supervised groups of the Faculty of Overseas Students Training. 🟠 Students visited the exhibitions “Kalyadny Karagod,” “Belarusian National Costume,” and “Peravit” (net embroidery). They also took part in master classes in ceramics and decorative plate painting. This introduction to Belarusian folk crafts helped international students not only learn more about the rich culture of the Belarusian people but also express their creative abilities. 🟠 The students also visited the Vitebsk Regional Museum of Local History and the Art Museum. The exhibitions sparked great interest among the students, broadened their horizons, and introduced them to the history and culture of the Vitebsk region. Despite the cold weather, the winter holidays of our students are filled with positive emotions and vivid impressions. 06/02/2026

Students from the Sri Lankan student community took part in the tournament. Despite the intense competitive spirit, the atmosphere in the hall was truly friendly and cheerful. 🟠 On February 4, a sports and recreational program titled “We Are Together!” brought together teams of international students from the 1st to the 5th year of study. Participants enjoyed exciting relay races using balls and hoops, as well as a darts throwing contest. 🏆 Sports Festival Results: · 1st place — 3rd-year team “Krenoviantz” · 2nd place — 5th-year team “Exorians” · 3rd place — 4th-year team “Troizeanz” Bright emotions, a strong will to win, mutual support, and team unity demonstrated during the competitions make a significant contribution to creating an unforgettable atmosphere of student life for international students in the Republic of Belarus 💪 06/02/2026

🎓 The Second Graduation of Winter Intake students of the Faculty of Overseas Students Training held at VSMU. A ceremonial event dedicated to the second graduation in the history of Vitebsk State Medical University of winter intake students of the Faculty of Overseas Students Training took place on January 30. The title of Doctor of Medicine and diplomas from one of the leading medical universities in Belarus were awarded to 27 international graduates who successfully completed their studies in the specialty General Medicine. 🗣 As noted by Rector of VSMU Alexey Chukanov: “The graduates have become part of the large VSMU medical family and will carry into the world the high standards of the Belarusian medical school, the spirit of humanism, and evidence-based science instilled within the walls of their alma mater.” The graduates expressed their sincere gratitude to the university administration, staff, and faculty for the high-quality education they received, as well as for the support and warm attitude shown throughout their studies. 🌐 Medical diplomas enabling professional practice in their home countries were awarded to graduates from Egypt, India, Lebanon, the Republic of Maldives, Nigeria, Sudan, and Sri Lanka. It included vocal and dance performances, musical instrument playing, and illusion acts. 👑 The highlight of the event was the selection of winners in the "Miss Fresher’s" and "Mister Fresher’s" nominations. The concert left everyone present with many bright emotions and unforgettable impressions. Students of the Red Cross Society at VSMU, together with the curators of the Department of Public Health and Healthcare, and their supervised groups, participated in the charity marathon. All proceeds from the sale of the balloons will be used to purchase essential items for children with disabilities. Each purchased balloon is a small contribution to the great cause of helping those in need. The warm-hearted spirit of the event will be remembered through colorful photographs. 16/01/2026

On November 29, the sports halls of VSMU became the center of international student sports — two competitions took place simultaneously involving students from the Overseas Students Training Faculty. ⚽️ The mini-football tournament was held between teams representing the Lebanese community. The event was dedicated to the national holiday — Lebanon Independence Day. In a fierce and exciting battle, where each victory was hard-fought, the honorable first place was won by the "Lebanese Cedar" team. 🏐 On the volleyball court, a friendly but intense rivalry unfolded between the Sri Lankan national team and an international team from Egypt, which included students from Yemen, Lebanon, and Palestine playing shoulder to shoulder. After a series of bright and dynamic qualifying games, the undefeated victory went to the Sri Lankan student team — "Smashers." 🤝 Both sports venues were filled not only with the spirit of healthy competition and sporting fervor but also with a genuinely warm and friendly atmosphere. Bright emotions, mutual support, and respect between participants became the main outcomes of this day. And, of course, in these competitions, as in any true game, friendship was the real winner! 16/01/2026

World AIDS Day Being a doctor is not only about treating illnesses; it also involves significant efforts in their prevention and health education. Students of the Red Cross Society at VSMU organized an event for students of "Gymnasium No. 5," dedicated to World AIDS Day. VSMU students explained to the children about the disease HIV/AIDS, as well as its prevention and treatment. But it wasn’t a dull lecture; it was vibrant, educational games, lively interaction not only in Russian but also in English, filled with bright emotions and unforgettable impressions. 16/01/2026

Glushanko, and the department's faculty members always attend meetings, celebrations, and events of the most numerous foreign student community at VSMU with responsibility and, of course, with pleasure. Traditionally, at the beginning of each academic year, the council of the community (chairperson and deputies) organizes a warm and heartfelt meet-and-greet at the department. This time, such a meeting took place shortly after a large gathering with Sri Lankan students, involving staff from the Citizenship and Migration Department, the dean's office, and the academic supervisor of the community. Let’s wish the students and the department staff continued fruitful cooperation! 16/01/2026

During an exciting competition, the victory was won by the men's team "Champions - Northeast United FC" and the women's team "Hyderabad FC." Such championships help international students stay in good physical shape and promote friendship, team spirit, and mutual support! 16/01/2026
