This is not just a cultural issue—it’s a human rights violation that is harming our daughters, both physically and mentally.

In some communities, when girls seek help from the police, their cases are often referred back to these same elders or their parents—the very people pushing for FGM to happen. This makes it nearly impossible for victims to get real support from the government.

FGM is not only harmful to the physical and mental well-being of our girls, but it also robs them of their rights. It’s a dangerous tradition that has no place in our society today.
