New Era College Expands Global Engagement at Canadaโ€™s Prestigious Polytechnic Showcase

New Era College President, Mr Daruosh Ghodrati, recently attended the prestigious Polytechnic Showcase Conference in Canada, hosted by Polytechnics Canada. The flagship conference brought together leaders from higher education institutions, government, industry and applied research sectors to discuss the future of polytechnic education, workforce development and industry collaboration.

The conference provided New Era College with valuable insight into how leading polytechnic institutions across the world are redefining higher education through practical learning, applied research and strong industry partnerships. It also created an important platform for engagement and networking as the College continues to pursue strategic partnerships with top polytechnics and higher education institutions in Canada and around the world.

As New Era College continues to strengthen its international footprint and create global pathways for its graduates, engagements of this nature remain critical in building relationships with global partners, enhancing academic relevance, and expanding opportunities for student mobility, skills development, research collaboration, and international exposure.

One of the most critical observations from the conference was the extent to which Canadian polytechnics have positioned themselves as drivers of national economic development. A key lesson learnt is their approach to education which goes beyond classroom instruction, focusing heavily on practical learning, workforce readiness and solving real industry challenges through applied research. This resonated strongly with our own institutional direction at New Era College, particularly as Botswana continues to pursue economic diversification through innovation and the development of a knowledge-based economy.

Six Years of Impact, One Visionary Future.

In 2021, we started with a simple yet powerful necessity: creating a dedicated space where women could lead the dialogue on the future of engineering.

Looking back at our journey, that single morning of discussion has officially evolved into a cornerstone of the engineering calendar in Botswana. We have built a national movement that bridges the gap between seasoned industry giants and emerging female trailblazers.

Today, the Women in Engineering (WIE) Round Table Talk & Gala Dinner is a high-level strategic platform that actively dismantles barriers. Through our work, we facilitate lifelong mentorships, inspire progressive corporate diversity policies, and celebrate the brilliant technical contributions women make to infrastructure and technology.

The momentum is building for our 6th Annual Edition on July 31, 2026. We are no longer just dreaming of a more representative industry. We are engineering it, together. This is your official invitation to move from the sidelines to the center of the movement.

Position your brand as an industry leader through an official partnership, contribute to the dialogue as part of our panel discussions, or secure your presence in the room where the magic happens by purchasing your tickets today.

The time to act is now!
