Yesterday marked a powerful milestone for entrepreneurship development in Botswana as FNB Botswana, in partnership with Project124 Africa, hosted the inaugural 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 under the theme: “𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐌𝐄 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬.”

The Roundtable convened entrepreneurs from across 18 sectors of Botswana’s economy, alongside investors, corporate buyers, industry leaders, and institutional partners committed to building a stronger ecosystem for citizen-owned businesses. We were also honoured by the presence of Tiroeaone Ntsima, whose support continues to inspire the growth of entrepreneurship and innovation in our country.

The event featured thought-provoking insights and high-level conversations from distinguished speakers including 𝐌𝐫. 𝐎𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐚 𝐊𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐞, whose keynote challenged entrepreneurs to think beyond survival and position themselves for scale and long-term relevance within modern value chains.

We were equally privileged to hear from 𝐃𝐫. 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐳𝐚𝐦 𝐊𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐝𝐢, who shared global perspectives on investment, economic transformation, and the importance of building globally competitive African enterprises. The conversations were further enriched by dynamic panel discussions featuring entrepreneurs, ecosystem leaders, corporate stakeholders, and development partners committed to unlocking greater opportunities for SMEs in Botswana.

Through the 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞, this was more than just a roundtable. It was a strategic platform for connection, collaboration, investment readiness, and market access — bringing together key stakeholders who can help SMEs move from survival to sustainable growth.
