Creative Brain Week came to a exhilarating end at the CBW Symposium. It was an educational event that taught us more about the relationship between brain health and creativity as well as various strategies for maintaining brain and mental health.

CBW: RAMOTSWA KGOTLA VISIT

The next stop on our journey was Ramotswa whose lush landscape and rolling hills led us to the town’s kgotla. What coloured the kgotla visit the most was our interactions with the community; they were passionate and interactive throughout. Whether it was physical activity or pensive discussion on traditions past and life experiences all attendees were on board to participate and make their thoughts known. We concluded the day with much gratitude for the Balete’s receptions and an invitation to come back and cultivate the seeds of brain and mental health that we sowed.

CBW: STEPPING STONES INTERNATIONAL VISIT

Our journey to better brain and mental health picked up its pace on route to Mochudi for an engagement with elders at Stepping Stones International.

We were afforded the opportunity to discuss the general understanding of brain and mental health in the community, dementias and other conditions that elders are most vulnerable to and advice on how to maintain and improve brain health.

We are grateful to Stepping Stones International for giving us the opportunity to spread the importance of brain health.
