Greetings BC family!

The SRC has been n several meetings with the main aim of making Boitekanelo College great. Some of the issues we talked about, and we are hopeful about them are; online registration, student engagement n decision making, policies awareness just to name few. However the President and Founder of Boitekanelo College found it fit enough to also have a platform with the student community tomorrow at 1300, Auditorium 1 so as for them to acknowledge and criticize our college with the aim of making it a better college. All courses are urged to delegate members to attend the meeting. There shall also be a survey conducted by Dr Mampane about our school n general. Let's try to fill up the Auditorium and participate n these kind of engagement as they shall aid us in making BC great. Above it all, for these plans to be success, we need student solidarity.

Please share the message for awareness with your class members who are not part of this group.

Regards
SRC

“ADDRESS ON THE BURNING ISSUES CAUSING UNREST/ COMMOTION WITHIN STUDENT BODY”

We are pleased to inform our fellow students that we have taken a deliberate move and action to get resolutions to their issues of concern.
It has come to our attention that there is a recent confusion to students on issues to do with accreditation and late payment of allowances .i.e. living allowance, book allowance, and research allowance. The office of SRC has taken it upon themselves to consult relevant departments to come address these issues as a matter of urgency.

The SRC office sent 2 delegations
- One delegation comprising of Mr Makanti, Mr Tabane together with the acting vice-chancellor (Mrs Magetse) managed to meet BQA officials who confirmed that they will give our students audience on Monday 0830hrs to articulate more on issues of accreditation.
- 2nd delegation comprising of Mr Kebabope, Mr Matlho, Mr Matthews and Mr Bojalwa attended a meeting hosted by Botswana National Union of students (BONUS) which was between all SRC, DTEF, DTVET and Dr Alfred Madigele (Minister of Tertiary Education, Research, science and technology)
-
Amongst the issues raised and some of the responses are as follows:

LATE PAYMENT OF ALLOWANCES
-according to DTEF Director, turnaround time to get all processes of monitoring, evaluation and authorization is 8 working days.
- the ministry through DTEF is working on the modality to have all institutions represented through DTEF personnel who will be deployed among all institutions.
- the ministry is working on the Service Level Agreements (SLA) which will be used to monitor service delivery of education and training providers. This agreement will also commit institutions to submit the registration lists on stipulated time frame.

We have reached a joint concession with the management to suspend tomorrow`s classes after critically analyzing the possible implications which may transpire following the students reaction towards the issues at hand. So we urge students to remain calm.
