We welcome Mr. Matthew Norman David Francis Kirby to our Westwood Community.
The Theatre was filled to capacity.
We also welcome new teachers in Year 1, Year 5, Business studies and a new maintainance manager.
We look forward to a fabulous term 3.

a regular Thursday ko Westwood.
Kagiso(Elizabeth) and Reba(r) one of whom lives in the Westwood Complex have a research project on the value of Education. for their TOK(Theory of Knowledge) for the International Baccalaureate at Westwood International School in Gaborone. I cant wait to see where they wind up in 10 or 15 years.
Their "set" was astounding so me thinks let me take a moment to celebrate this moment.

From Family trees to gymastice to the origins of our planet to music improvisations tocompotosions on what a friend would say about the author to a skit about predjudice for upper primary and for lower primary, the body, friendship with popems stressing the point: "we are different but we are friends" Aerobics and much more. Thank you to our parents who grace our assemblies. Time equals love for our children.

We have an amazing student body with lots of talent. We braved the Botswana "heat wave" to be part of this fun.
We had a question from a parent a few days ago concerning cellphones in school.
Below is an extract from the Student code of conduct with reference to cellphones in school.
Student Code of Conduct: Cell Phones & Electronic Devices
• Students in the Primary Years are not expected to bring cellular phones, MP3 players/I Pods, or other electronic devices to school;
• Students in the Middle and Secondary Years may do so at their own risk; however, students are strongly discouraged from bringing expensive electronic items to school. The use of cellular phones/ electronic devices in school is subject to the following regulations:
cell phones should be switched off during all lessons, activities, assemblies and meetings;
MP3 players/I-Pods may ONLY be used in classrooms, during individual study, if permission to do so has been granted by the teacher of the class;
the school cannot accept responsibility for lost/stolen cell phones or other electronic devices;
a student who sends inappropriate, offensive or threatening messages or material, or who takes/sends inappropriate photographs during school time, may have the right to bring a cell phone/electronic device to school withdrawn;
the use of laptops/computers in school is covered by the School’s IT Usage Policy.
