We are pleased to highlight Ms Chandabona Adams, Manager, Sector Committee, who shared her insights and expertise as a panellist at the Women in HR Symposium 2026 held last week.

Organised by Human Resources Professional's Society-Botswana, this symposium convened HR professionals, leaders, and change-makers to engage in substantive discussions on women's leadership, workplace transformation, talent development, and the future of Human Resources.

Ms. Adams' participation provided valuable perspectives, underscoring the critical importance of fostering workplaces where women can lead, innovate, influence, and thrive.

𝐇𝐑𝐃𝐂 𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐒 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐎𝐍𝐆𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐒𝐂𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐈𝐍 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐖𝐄

HRDC is participating in the National Science Week, which is being held at Shakawe Bus Rank from 17th – 22nd August 2026 under the theme: “Harnessing Science, Technology, Innovation and Indigenous Knowledge to Drive Economic Diversification for a Prosperous Botswana.”

Among other objectives, the event seeks to stimulate interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects, starting from early childhood education through primary and secondary school levels. It also aims to expose the public to scientific and technological advances, both locally and internationally, and provide a platform for showcasing research and innovation products, with a view to exploring their commercialisation potential for entrepreneurs.

The event resonates with one of HRDC’s national strategic initiatives, the Botswana Robotics and Automation Skills Transfer (BRAST) programme, which the Council has embarked on in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Innovation (MCI).

The project is intended to empower students with hands-on technical skills and inspire innovation through structured training and competitions. It also aims to assess the scalability of robotics education across Botswana’s diverse school contexts.

The Human Resource Development Council wishes to inform all key stakeholders that it is implementing enhancements to the Non-Credit Bearing Short Courses (NCBSCs) portfolio to improve quality assurance, relevance, and responsiveness to the evolving skills needs of Botswana’s economy.

The enhancements are aimed at strengthening efficiency in course registration, monitoring, and reporting processes.

The Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) is delighted to be participating at the ongoing 2nd Annual Botswana Public Service Leadership Conference, scheduled for the 11th – 12th August 2026 at Fairground Holdings, Gaborone. The Conference’s theme ‘Year of Delivery’ reflects a deliberate shift in emphasis from policy formulation to ex*****on, from ambition to measurable impact.

This three-days’ Conference is set to deliberate on the following objectives: Institutionalise service delivery excellence; strengthen leadership accountability for delivery; embedded integrity, transparency, and ethnical services; and build a future-ready public service workforce.

HRDC’s participation at this Conference is key and resonates with the Council’s strategic intent of driving effective human capital development, through a process that engages and accommodates the input and broad participation of the public sector, the private sector, civil society, labour, youth, Education Training Providers (ETP), citizenry and other key stakeholders as partners in establishment of an effective sector-focused human capital development base in Botswana
