Botswana Patriotic Front (BPF) councillor for Tamasane, David Ikanyeng, has been elected and sworn in as the new Chairman of the Palapye District Council.
Ikanyeng was elected today following a motion of no confidence that resulted in the removal of Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) councillor Kabo Ketshogile from the chairmanship.
The leadership change follows a vote by councillors, paving the way for Ikanyeng to assume the council's top political position.
He was subsequently sworn in and officially took over the reigns of the Palapye District Council
