Position: RESEARCH ASSISTANT (4 POSITIONS)

Duties:
• Communicates with the Researchers for the data collection visit schedule; travels to designated schools to complete on-site data collection visit as scheduled.
• Collects data as per protocol
• Provide constructive feedback in terms of logistics related to data collection.
• Other work related duties as assigned.
Duration of the Job: maximum 20 days
Requirements:
• Upper class undergraduate students enrolled for physical education, biological and health sciences degree who have no retake or pending supplementary examinations
• Previous experience in health research is an added advantage
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Remuneration Details: BWP 72.50 per hour.
Additional Information (if any): The Research Assistant will complete on-site data collection visits to all selected study sites and will be responsible for collecting the facility, patient, and accurate data. The Research Assistants will be trained and will be expected to demonstrate confidence and skill appropriate for data collection process, and be able to effectively communicate the data collection process to the participants during on-site data collection visits.

Part-Time: Student Assistants (10 Vacancies)
Main purpose of the job: To participate as part of the disability service provision team in the delivery of a top notch support service for students with disabilities.
Requirements: Applicants must: i) Be Full-time undergraduate students of the University of Botswana, ii) Have excellent interpersonal skills, iii). Minimum GPA 3.5 and preferred experience working and supporting with students with disabilities will be an added advantage.
Desirable qualities:
i) Persistent, Customer-driven, Responsible, Conscientious, Reliable, Empathetic
ii) Have proficient knowledge of ICT,
iii) Ability to establish positive working relationship with students with disabilities,
iv) Be self-driven with excellent work ethics and
vi) Experience in participating in student activities and volunteer work.
vii) Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
Duties include:
• Assisting with literature searches and scribing academic work for the students.
• Photocopying and retrieving books for students who cannot access library shelves, catalogues, periodical indices, or other research material.
• One-on-one interaction with students with disabilities as a reader, scribe, guide, note taker and study strategies mentor.
• Providing reliable, comprehensive notes to the student.
• Participate in learner support meetings and departmental events as assigned by supervisor
