In the face of rising gender-based violence, we must remember that the core of our humanity lies in our ability to care for one another, to build communities rooted in compassion, respect and justice. Violence, in any form, strips away the very essence of who we are. It breeds fear, distrust and division. But we have the power, together to restore what has been broken and to give humanity a chance.
To give humanity a chance is to reject the toxic norms and systems that perpetuate violence, to challenge the cultures of silence and complicity and to demand a nation where every individual regardless of gender, race or identity can live free from harm. As a nation we should stand up for the dignity and rights of survivors, ensuring that they are heard, believed and supported, and holding perpetrators accountable for their actions.
There is no place for indifference. We cannot remain passive while violence continues to ravage lives. We must collectively be active in our solidarity, advocacy and commitment to creating safe spaces for all people. We must raise our voices, not just for those who are suffering now, but for future generations who deserve a world of peace, equality and love.
Let us be the generation that refuses to accept violence as normal, that chooses empathy over hatred and justice over silence. Let us be the ones who create a world where humanity is defined by our care for one another, where every person is free to be who they are without fear.
Giving humanity a chance means that we fight for a future built on respect, kindness, and equality. Letโs make that future our reality, one that honors the full dignity of every human being.
