We are writing to inform you that AMT College of Health and Safety will now be known as Gaborone Institute of Health and Safety. This change reflects our commitment to provide the highest quality health and safety education and training to our students and to better serve the needs of our stakeholders.

Please note that our location, contact information, and mission will also be shared once the school is fully functional. Our website, email addresses, and other communication channels will also be updated to reflect the change in name.

Mission

We are a Training Institution that provides our learners with Occupational Health and Safety learning interventions that are of outstanding quality in order to build a workforce that is empowered to always consider their own Health and Safety as well as that of their fellow workers.

At AMT College of Health and Safety we offer a range of OHS courses that range from risk specific to generic. The courses are all modular and can be taken as a single module course or in combination with other modules.

Occupational health and safety (OHS) courses are for potential OHS officers who have the main responsibility of ensuring that health and safety systems are in place in all types of different work environments. This course is designed for individuals who would like:

to take on the role of an occupational health and safety officer in the workplace

to learn how to create a proper healthy and safe environment for workers

to prevent serious injuries in the workplace

What are the education and training requirements for an occupational health and safety officer?

You have a future in OHS even if you did not attend a university or college. If you care for people and the workplace you can become a fully qualified OHSO professional. To qualify all you need to do an accredited course by a professional body and then become a member. Each body has different criteria before you become fully qualified but you can do it.
