1. HEAD OF TECHNOLOGY PLANNING (5 YEAR CONTRACT) - READVERTISEMENT

Main Purpose of the Job:

Reporting to the Technical Executive the incumbent’s main purpose will be to lead and direct the strategic planning of BoFiNet Information Systems and the Infrastructure Development of national and international telecommunications network.

Key Responsibilities

• Manages the overall Technical strategy development and ex*****on.
• Defines required project scope of work according to terms of reference & contract, and develops project ex*****on plans.
• Develops and implements technical and operational strategies relating to network build.
• Develops business and operating plans.
• Manages capital expenditure.
• Coordinates and monitors opportunities for the improvement of operational activities.
• Manages and reviews systems, designs and project costs in accordance with best practice.
• Oversees all technical Service Level Agreements (SLA) with internal and external service providers to ensure value for money.
• Prepares divisional reports, analyses data and makes recommendations for improving network utilisation
• Manages network retirement and replacements, & upgrades in line with business requirements.

Academic Qualification and Experience

The candidates should have attained the following:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information, Telecommunications and Technology, Electrical and Electronic Engineering or related are
• At least five (8) years post qualification experience within an ICT environment of which three (3) should have been at managerial positions.

2. ASSISTANT ENGINEER *8 (5 YEAR CONTRACT)

Main Purpose of the Job:

Accountable to Project Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for delivery of customer services and taking part in customer project implementations.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose coverage and throughput problems and determine solutions
• Analyze client requirements, anticipate growth in all types of traffic, new technology integration and do site survey
• Perform analysis of network efficiency (e.g channel, trunks, etc) and routing traffic, troubleshoot system failures and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken
• Identify dataflow, analyze site layout, select hardware and adhere to standards and protocols
• Ensure workspace is properly resourced and stocked to deliver tasks and output

Competencies:

The candidate should exhibit the following:
• Service Provisioning
• Network Technical Design
• Network Operations
• Network/ Infrastructure Control
• Technical document management

Academic Qualification and Experience

The candidates should have attained the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum two (2) years post qualification experience within an ICT/Telecommunications environment.
