THE DIGITAL ACADEMY BOTSWANA – OFFICIAL STATEMENT
Theme: UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls
Today, we join the world in launching the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. As Botswana moves deeper into the digital age, new forms of violence threaten the safety and dignity of women and girls. Digital violence is real, it is rising, and it demands urgent action.
As The Digital Academy Botswana — a leader in Digital Literacy, Online Safety, and Digital Empowerment — we proudly take an active role in championing this year’s theme:
“UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls.”
Our commitment is clear:
1. To educate communities about online harassment, cyberbullying, identity theft, sextortion, digital stalking, and harmful content.
2. To empower women and girls with the digital skills to protect themselves and thrive.
3. To engage men and boys as allies in creating safer, respectful digital spaces.
4. To build partnerships with NGOs, companies, government, and schools to promote digital safety nationwide.
5. To advocate for responsible online behavior, digital accountability, and stronger protection tools.
Every woman and girl deserves a Botswana where her voice is heard, her digital identity is protected, and her online experience is safe.
This is not just a campaign; it is a movement, one we are honoured to lead.
Let’s UNiTE. Let’s Report. Let’s Teach.
Let’s Protect.
Let’s end digital violence — together.
