Audrey Masizana is a Senior Scholar and former Head of Computer Science at University of Botswana. A specialist in data science and high-performance computing, her work focuses on digital infrastructure and data-driven decision-making.
A Fellow of the Botswana Academy of Sciences, she leads national and international research initiatives in digital health, data systems, and machine learning, and currently chairs the development of Botswanaโs Open Data Policy.

To inform ongoing discussions on strengthening scientific inputs to the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC), the ISC has published a series of discussion papers offering science-based recommendations across three key areas:

Options for establishing a dedicated scientific advisory mechanism to ensure that developments in science and technology are effectively integrated into BWC processes.
๐ International cooperation and assistance
Recommendations to promote transparency, foster equitable partnerships, and align capacity-building initiatives with scientific needs.

Science-informed approaches to assessing and supporting compliance, with attention to emerging technologies, diverse national capacities, and global risks.
