In preparation for the grand Rabney (consecration) of the sacred Ka-gong Phur-sum Stupa at Kathok Yosel Samtenling Monastery in Baylangdra, please be informed of the following temporary closure:

• Status: Closed for Jelkha (public viewing/visits)
• Dates: May 11, 2026 – May 21, 2026
• Reason: Preparations for the upcoming sacred ceremonies and the Rabney.

☸️DHARMA ANNOUNCEMENT

On the auspicious 8th day of the 4th month of the Bhutanese Calendar (May 24, 2026), the Kathok Yosel Samtenling Monastery in Baylangdra will conduct the grand Rabney (consecration) of the sacred Ka-gong Phur-sum Stupa.

This event is dedicated to the flourishing of the Buddhadharma for the peace and happiness of all sentient beings, the long life of The His Majesty the King, Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen, the Gyalsey, and the Royal Family, for continued peace, harmony, and prosperity of the People and the Nation and successful realization of the vision for the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC).

Transport Services: For the convenience of devotees joining Molam bus services will be arranged from Wangdue (Chuzom) to Baylangdra on May 26 and 27, 2026.

The Royal Decree (Kasho) for the Kathok Zhitro Mandala Project was formally received at Kathok Yoesel Samtenling Monastery.

Tulku Ngawang Jigdrel, Tulku Tsepel, and the monastic community ushered in the sacred document into the Grand Tshokhang.

Following a Tendrel, Kyabje Kathok Situ Rinpoche offered prayers and instructed the Executive Council to plan and make efforts to ensure this sacred undertaking is successfully completed and achieved .

On this auspicious day, His Majesty The King granted a Royal Decree (Kasho) for the formal approval of the Kathok Zhitro Mandala Project, an undertaking of the Kathok Yosel Samtenling Monastery under the auspices of its patron, Kyabje Kathok Situ Rinpoche.

The Kasho was formally received by Chairman Lam Jigme Chodra and Project Director Sonam Tobgye at the sacred Simtokha Dzong.

☸️In Jorebungalow, Darjeeling, today, Kyabje Kathok Situ Rinpoche paid a surprise visit to Phuntsok Ngayab Choekhorling Monastery and met with monks and lay practitioners.

The monastery was founded by the late Kyabje Jadrel Rinpoche.

☸️Zhabdrung Kuchoe was observed at Kathok Yosel Samtenling Monastery, commemorating the Mahaparinirvana anniversary of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, who unified the country in the 17th century.

The ceremony was presided over by Kyabje Kathok Situ Rinpoche.

To the assembly of spiritual masters, I beseech with gratitude - please grant blessings
འདིར་ཚོགས་པའི་སྐལ་ལྡན་ཕོ་མོ་རྣམས། དབང་ཆོས་འདི་དོན་ལྡན་མཛད་པར་ཞུ།
Fortunate men and women gathered here, please receive these precious Empowerments and Teachings

དེང་མཇལ་བའི་མཚན་ལྡན་བླ་མ་འདི། རྗེ་སངས་རྒྱས་དབྱེར་མེད་སྤྱི་བོར་སྒོམས།
Having met the assembly of Gurus here, visualize above your head - whom in essence is Buddha himself –
ལྷ་ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཆེན་པོ་སྤྱི་བོར་སྒོམས། ངག་ཡི་གེ་དྲུག་མའི་གསོལ་འདེབས་མཛོད།
the great compassionate Avalokiteshvara, beseech and chant:
ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ་ཧྲཱི། Om Mani Padme Hum Hrih

སེམས་བྱམས་དང་སྙིང་རྗེ་ཆེན་པོར་སྒོམས། ཆོས་བྱས་ཚད་འགྲོ་བའི་དོན་དུ་མཛོད།
Practice great love and compassion, practice for the benefit of all sentient beings.
འཇིགས་བརྒྱད་དང་ནད་གདོན་གང་བྱུང་ཡང། འཇིགས་སྐྱོབ་ཀྱི་ཡི་གེ་དྲུག་མ་མཛོད།
Whatever eight fears, diseases and evil obstacles, can be pacified by reciting these six syllables:
ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ་ཧྲཱི། Om Mani Padme Hum Hrih

ལུས་མི་རྟག་པ་ནི་མངོན་སུམ་ལ། ཡོངས་འཁོར་བ་འདི་ལ་སྙིང་པོ་མེད།
Our bodies are impermanent; there is no essence in samsara.
ཆོས་དགེ་བ་བཅུ་པོ་བསྒྲུབ་པ་དང། སྡིག་མི་དགེ་བཅུ་པོ་སྤང་བར་བྱ།
Practice the ten positive deeds and abandon the ten negative deeds.
ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ་ཧྲཱི། Om Mani Padme Hum Hrih

དེ་ལྟར་དུ་མཛད་པའི་ཕན་ཡོན་གྱིས། ཚེ་འདི་དང་ཕྱི་མ་བདེ་ལེགས་འབྱུང།
The benefits of practicing accordingly, will bring happiness and well-being in this and future lives.
སྤྱིར་རྒྱལ་ཁམས་ཡོངས་ལ་བཀྲ་ཤིས་ཤོག། སྒོས་འདིར་འཚོགས་ཁྲོམ་ལ་བཀྲ་ཤིས་ཤོག།
May all be auspicious in this world, and may auspiciousness come to all gathered here.

Transmission of རིག་འཛིན་འཁྲུལ་འཁོར། (Rigzin Thrul-khor)

The transmission of Rigzin Thrul-khor was bestowed by Kyabje Kathok Situ Rinpoche at the Ngajur Kathok Institute of Higher Studies in Baylangdra. This was requested by 20 individuals, comprising Khenpos, Lamas, Lopens, and senior monks, who are currently undergoing a month-long retreat.

Kyabje Kathok Situ Rinpoche presented jackets to more than 150 monks of the Ngajur Kathok Institute of Higher Studies, as well as retreatants (Tshampas), Lamas, Khenpos, and Lopens under the Kathok Baylangdra monastic institutions.

This gesture will support the well-being of practitioners and monks. We extend our deepest gratitude to the Singapore group for their unwavering support and kindness.

Also, the monastery is pleased to welcome three new teachers to the institute. They will be imparting the English curriculum to the monks of the Ngajur Kathok Institute of Higher Studies.

Kyabje Kathok Situ Rinpoche arrived in Kheng Tama for a five-day programme. Rinpoche will confer blessings upon the retreatants undergoing the three-year retreat programme at Kathok Drubdey Sangchen Woesel Thekchog Gatshel in Kheng Tama, Zhemgang.
